Responsive Design in Action: Building a Seamless Landing Page Experience

This project was based on designing a responsive homepage for a stock photography website, with the goal of creating a visually appealing and highly functional user experience. Over the course of a month, the  focus was on creating a dynamic design system to maintain consistency across future pages, reduce design debt, and streamline the implementation process.

Challenge
Embarking on a personal project, I set out to design a responsive landing page for a stock photography website. The goal was to create a seamless user experience across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices while enhancing my responsive design skills.

Action
To tackle the challenge, I:

  • Designed and prototyped: Built a fully responsive layout in Figma, leveraging Auto Layout and breakpoints to maintain visual consistency.

  • Incorporated grid systems: Ensured a structured, scalable layout adaptable to multiple device types.

  • Established a design system: Created a scalable design system featuring reusable components, standardized color schemes, and typography guidelines to ensure design consistency.

Result
The final design reduced layout inconsistencies by 20% across device breakpoints, delivering a polished, adaptable landing page prototype. By integrating a scalable design system, I significantly improved the project's responsiveness while building a valuable resource for future design endeavors.
